Hello Queens!!!! We are excited to talk with you all today!! Such an honor. Please start off by telling us a little bit more about how you 3 met and decided to do business together!

Kaity Telesford and Michelle Telesford are cousins. Kaity and Melissa Samuel have been best friends since junior high school and we consider ourselves to be blood sisters. We all have had some cosmetic surgery done in the past and It was a struggle to find a place that does post op care and actually cares about the recovery process. One day Michelle and Kaity were talking expressing how much they want change and to start a business. Michelle expressed her interest in opening a Spa and Kaity was thinking the samething so they decided to collaborate and of course because we’re so close we called Melissa (registered nurse) and asked her to join us. She agreed and the rest was history, we met up to discuss the logistics of opening a spa, finding a location, doing construction, getting certifications, insurance and all the important components needed to open and service the public.

What were some of your initial fears as well as the things that made you excited, when considering your decision to partner in business?

Our initial fear when deciding to open was having enough capital to execute the vision, getting clientele, pretty much the fear of not knowing will it be successful. I think we also was afraid of business ruining our relationship because you know they say friends and family can’t do business together but we are breaking those Barriers.

Please share with us some of the strategies you ladies use to team build and practice great leadership skills!

A few strategies that we use to team build is meeting once a month to discuss personal things to check everyone’s mental health before we go into the business aspect. We meet for team resolution if we can’t agree on something, we also joined The Spa boss tribe with Candace Holyfield a great example to have in leadership. We listen to a few of our favorite pastors sermons like Sarah Jakes, Pastor Keion West to stay spiritually fed. We also read books given by our mentor every month. One of our favorites is $100M offers.

What separates The Contour Corner from any other MedSpa in New York? How are you positioning yourselves to stand out?

What seperates us from other Medspas is that we can relate to most of our clients when it comes to everyday life experiences, cosmetic surgery and just wanting to look and feel our best. It allows us to have a level of patience and kindness when it comes to our clients and customer service. We really do go above and beyond to be emotional support for our clients. It’s more than just body services to us. We have encountered people from all walks of life and we take great pride to be a listening ear and provide advice to help our clients build confidence within themselves regardless of surgery and body contouring. We do a lot of community work where we offer a full day of free services for domestic violence awareness, cancer awareness, womens history month etc. We love to give back.

What are your thoughts about the evolution of the nurse entrepreneur industry? How does your medical background compliment the work you do daily at the spa?

Nurses make a difference in people’s lives in many different ways, and it is great to see how far nurses have come as well as be a part of this evolution that is happening. Nurses are no longer pushing a medication cart around and carrying out orders from doctors. Instead, we now have the opportunity to hone in on areas of interest and provide services while showcasing our skills and talents.

As far as the med spa industry, I feel as though our presence as a nurse is very much needed, because we know the human body, and can pick up on warning signs if there is a health related issue. Also, we understand what the products are that we are administering, how to give it safely, and what the side effects are. Overall nurse entrepreneurs now have an autonomy like never before.

Can you explain for our readers what Body Contouring consists of and how it works? What are the benefits and expected result process?

Body contouring also known as body sculpting is a collection of non-surgical cosmetic treatments used to help provide you with a firm and toned body hidden underneath layers of fat or loose skin. These treatments target those stubborn fat deposits found in the abdomen, thighs, or “love handles” that won’t budge no matter what you do.

Body contouring treatments are the best way to remove the stubborn fat that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise. For both surgical and non-surgical treatments, you will begin to notice a change after 6-8 sessions, some clients see results right away. You can expect the results of your treatments to last for about 6 – 12 months on average. Even though you are killing off fat cells and tightening the skin, these tissues will still need to adapt to your body.

What are some of your most slept-on services that more “dolls” should tap into at the Contour Corner?

Some of the most slept on services that more dolls should tap into is our muscle stimulant treatment that’s equivalent to doing crunches in the gym & our magnetic suction cupping for lymphatic drainage and body molding.

Do you have any advice for women who don’t want to get surgery but still want to utilize cosmetic services to reach their beauty and body goals? What are some things they can look into?

There are several options for women who are not comfortable or perhaps not ready to have surgery. We offer cavitation which is a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and localized fat by applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The body can then get rid of it as waste through your urine.

Another service is laser lipo which releases low-level diode laser energy underneath the skin in order to shrink the fat cells and give your skin is smoother and tighter look. We also offer wood therapy, and the benefit from this method is that it can tone and define the body, Relax muscle tension, Help energize your body, Stimulates lymphatic drainage and eliminates toxins, Help improve blood circulation, May help to speed metabolism, and reduces cellulite.
