We’ve obtained an exclusive interview to discover the origins that revolved around her inspiration and passion for writing.

When did you realize you had a passion for writing?

Dana: Once I saw my stage play truly come alive for the first time on stage at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club.

What was the inspiration behind your play?

Dana: Seeing and hearing about real-life issues that people have within families and relationships. My writing is very real and raw.

I wanted the story to be very impactful and memorable for the audience, therefore I couldn’t water my story down.

What are some of your most memorable accomplishments?

Dana: The sold-out weekend of the stage play “A Woman’s Love” at the Historic Bethesda Blues & Jazz in Washington DC. For this debut, I was the playwright and producer.

I would also say being an actress in the sold-out Go-Go Musical “THE GIZ” at the MGM National Harbor and “Confessions of a Side Chick” at the Historic Lincoln Theatre.

What do you define as success?

Dana: Having a vision and implementing the work that it takes to make your desires and dreams true.

Do you believe in work-life balance? If so how do you maintain it?

Dana: Yes, I believe in work-life balance. As busy as I am, I still make time to spend with my husband, daughter, mother, brothers, nieces, nephews, In-Laws, and friends.

I have been through things throughout my life that showed me that tomorrow is not promised. I’m intentional about showing the people that I love that they are truly important to me. I will never let making money or working consume my life and take my focus away from the people that mean the most to me.
