Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc. announced their official incorporation. Founded in 2020 as an international service organization, Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc. (ΗΡΣ) is a non-collegiate business sorority of women founders and professionals that was established by two African-American college-education women and business owners.Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc. aims to support and empower BIPOC women in business by providing resources for personal and professional growth, networking, and community engagement. The organization values inclusivity, equity, and social justice. 

We obtained an interview with the Founder & National President, Trenice J. Brinkley.

What would you like our readers to know about Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc and its mission?

Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc. (ΗΡΣ) was founded in 2020 in Vero Beach, Florida, is a non-profit, non-collegiate business organization with a dual focus on professional and social goals. Our mission is to promote service, sisterhood, leadership, education, and community engagement. As a sorority, we provide a supportive network for women who are entrepreneurs or career professionals in the business world. We also prioritize personal and professional growth through a variety of programs and initiatives.

Our programs are designed to promote the following core values:

SIX PILLARS OF HER — COMMUNITY, SERVICE, LEADERSHIP, INTEGRITY, SISTERHOOD & GRACE.

Service and Community Engagement:

We believe in giving back to our communities through volunteerism and philanthropy. Our service initiatives are designed to address the needs of underserved communities, while promoting social responsibility and civic engagement among our members.

Cultural Awareness and Involvement:

We recognize the importance of cultural awareness and understanding in promoting inclusivity and diversity in the workplace. Our initiatives focus on promoting cultural awareness and involvement through events, workshops, and partnerships with other organizations.

Youth Leadership and Educational Development:

We believe that empowering young people is key to building a strong and vibrant community. Our programs focus on developing leadership skills and providing educational opportunities for youth, with a particular emphasis on underprivileged communities.

Health and Wellness:

We recognize that physical and mental health are critical components of personal and professional success. Our initiatives focus on promoting health and wellness through events, workshops, and partnerships with other organizations.

Business Education and Ethical Development:

We believe that ethical business practices and ongoing education are essential to building a successful and sustainable business. Our initiatives focus on providing resources and training for our members, including mentorship, workshops, and educational opportunities.

We believe that promoting unity and sisterhood among BIPOC women in business is essential to achieving our mission. Our initiatives focus on building a supportive and inclusive community where our members can grow and thrive, while promoting a culture of grace, respect, and professionalism.

What services and resources are currently available to empower BIPOC women in business?

Eta Rho Sigma Sorority is a business organization that supports and empowers BIPOC women. Members have access to resources like workshops, training, and education opportunities to help them grow professionally. The sorority also gives out two annual awards to recognize outstanding achievements and volunteer service among its members.

We are focused on making positive contributions to communities, promoting excellence, and developing leadership skills among business and professional women. Being part of the sorority means being part of a supportive network of like-minded women who are committed to making a difference in the business world.

Any current events or projects you would like us to know about?

Eta Rho Sigma Sorority is excited to share the many events and projects we are currently working on. Our Let’s Do Lunch Networking Virtual event is just around the corner, so mark your calendars! We’re also hosting a membership interest meeting in May and we welcome women interested to attend.In addition to these events, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities through our back-to-school shoes and school supplies drive. We believe in using our resources and skills to help those in need, and we look forward to sharing updates on this project and others.One of our primary initiatives is the HER Scholarship Program, which aims to empower young people through mentorship and educational opportunities.

Our Swan members serve as mentors and role models, providing training in leadership, cultural awareness, and other essential skills. We also offer workshops on topics such as college preparation, career exploration, and vocational training, as well as motivational sessions to help students achieve their goals.We are also committed to supporting homeless college students and disadvantaged mothers through our Support Her Assistance Program.

Our Giving Heart program encourages members to volunteer their time and expertise in areas of need, and we’re proud to support the Michelle Denise Cancer Awareness initiative with a future goal of donating over $25,000 to the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation in honor of Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green.Furthermore, we are passionate about promoting women’s excellence in business and leadership through our participation in national programs.

During National Business Month, we recognize the contributions of women in the business world and promote opportunities for their continued success. In March, we celebrate Women’s History Month by honoring the accomplishments of women throughout history and promoting gender equality. On International Girls Day, we inspire and empower young girls to become future leaders and change-makers. And on Founder’s Day, we celebrate the vision and legacy of our organization’s founders.

We are proud to participate in these programs and promote the advancement of women in all areas of life.

What do you enjoy most about Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc?

We’re excited to meet new women at our upcoming interest meeting in May. Volunteering to support women’s education and business growth is important to us, as it reflects the founding principles of our organization rooted in friendship and entrepreneurship.

What other vital information or exclusive news can you share with us first?

Eta Rho Sigma Sorority, Inc. places a high value on integrity and therefore, we are very selective in accepting vendors who align with our values. Starting from May 20th, vendors can apply to become an exclusive vendor with us online. We encourage companies who are interested in becoming exclusive vendors to apply and join us in our mission to empower and uplift women. Not only do they possess physical grace, but they are also intelligent, strong, and adaptable creatures. Similarly, our membership prioritizes quality over quantity, and we welcome women from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds who support BIPOC communities.
