The 2022 FlowHers Awards set the tone for the year. On January 8, 2022, the 1st annual FlowHers Awards took place at Our Legacy Center located in East Point, GA. If you weren’t in the building, let me tell you, you missed a treat. The name of the building says it all. The setup didn’t disappoint. Each room from front to back was covered with articles of those who fought a great fight in the African American community. From Rosa Parks to Malcolm X they showcased those who made a mark and lasting impression in our community. On top of the already beautiful décor for the center, you sprinkle in some razzle-dazzle for the award ceremony, and it came together so perfectly. For that, we have decor sponsors, CM Productions ATL and DD Catering & Events to thank. The ambiance was ravishing!
As the gowns and tuxedos entered the building and the drinks flowed, which were made to perfection by Ms. Chyna Marie: be sure to follow her on IG also @thechynamarie; The food from appetizer to entrée was being made with love.
Ms. Georgia Brown knows her seasonings. She can be found on IG as well @sweetgeorgiabrownscatering. Book her for all your catering needs. Between the drinks and the food, we didn’t know what else to expect, but then you throw DJ Stormy on the 1’s and 2’s and you have an entire vibe. The room danced as if there was a choreographed routine practiced beforehand.
@djstormymonroe knows how to throw a party. Be sure to follow her as well. The guest understood every part of the assignment. We saw nothing but fashion walk through that door from speakers to vendors. The host and co-host did a great job and looked amazing doing so. There was a special treat from the co-host King JMO. The former NFL Player serenaded the audience and not only is he great on the eyes he can also carry a note. Be sure to follow him on IG he has a lot coming up this year @jmoiam. You all will be in for a treat. Professor Honey has the right name because she is a sweetheart. She came, she saw, she conquered as host of the event and served as a vendor lending her services for credit repair. She is a jack of all trades. To get your credit right hop on IG and follow Professor Honey @thehoneyloaf. As the evening continued the recipients of the awards were all well-deserved there were even a few people stunned to get an award which led to tears being shed.
Everybody deserves their flowers while they can receive them. Mrs. Brittany Miller of Team Brittany Miller Brand surprised her team with awards of their own, which was cause for a Kleenex. From tears to Tevin Campbell back to trap music, this event was one for the books. We can’t wait to see what the 2nd annual ceremony will have in store. If you didn’t get a ticket for this one being in the building for the next one is a must.
To all the nominees and recipients… we’re so proud of you all. We learned some things as each recipient got their plaques. These ladies are all well-established and accomplished. Each lady adds their own set of flavors to our community. Perfect location, perfect setting, and the perfect way to wrap up the week. Rnb and hip-hop beats, food made with love, and royal seats. The 2022 FlowHer Awards was a complete vibe. If we didn’t see you this time, grab a ticket or 3 for the next one. As said before this event was a complete vibe.
