An Interview with Pastor Joy Morgan: The 6th Annual Roadmap to Destiny Conference is Near!

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” (Proverbs 31). This is the scripture that truly embodies the likeness of pastor, motivational speaker, destiny coach, and author Joy Morgan. As the oldest sibling, she had a natural gravitation to being a leader which led to her desire to become her own boss. In this Interview, we get to know the real her, the path to her success, and a few gems for ladies who want to follow in her footsteps.

Who is Joy Morgan?

A child of God and Jesus lover, a wife, pastor, entrepreneur, motivator, author, and travel junkie.

If you had to describe your journey in 4 words, what would it be?

A road towards destiny.

What lessons from being the oldest sibling contributed to where you are today?

I learned that I am a role model, so I should live my life in an exemplary way. Also taught me responsibility and leadership.

What inspired you to begin your professional career in engineering?

I was decent in math in high school, and I was encouraged by high school advisors to participate in a STEM summer program which really led me to major in engineering in college. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that it wasn’t for me. However, because I didn’t see many who looked like me majoring in engineering, I was inspired to help create and facilitate programs that got girls and minorities interested in the fields of STEM. It was through my work as a STEM program coordinator and college advisor that I realized I had a passion for mentoring, teaching, and motivational speaking which is what I do now. I ABSOLUTELY love serving as a coach to new and aspiring speakers, authors, and entrepreneurs and motivating people to fulfill their purpose and passion.

What advice would you give to a young woman who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Destiny leaves clues!! Follow your passion, because success is loving what you do and doing what you love. If you seek to fulfill the divine destiny for your life, the money will follow, and you’ll never “work” a day in your life. You’ll simply just be operating out of purpose and passion.

We know that you’re the founder and executive director of The Future Leaders Institute for Girls, why do you feel that leadership is important and what does it mean to mean to you?

Leadership equals influence, and we can influence in a positive, or not so positive way. By definition, influence is “the capacity to have an effect on the character, the development, or behavior of someone or something.” I believe. We all are leaders in one way or another because we all have a measure of influence or capacity over something or someone. I think it’s important for us to learn how to increase that capacity of influence, and leverage it in a meaningful way so that we can make a mark in this world that can’t be erased.

How has your relationship with God helped you through the tough times throughout your journey?

Psalm 27:13 puts it this way, “I would have faintedunless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” My faith in God assures me that even my challenges and trials are working for my good and that my steps are ordered in the Lord, even the tough ones. I’m fully convinced that there is a purpose for my pain, and God has had a way of turning that pain into a platform to encourage others.

What is a destiny coach?

One who activates and empowers others to fulfill their God-given purpose and destiny.

What lead to the creation of The Annual Roadmap to Destiny Conference? & Do you have any upcoming events?

The conference started as a book “Roadmap to Destiny: A 21-Day Devotional for Those on the Pathway to Purpose”. I started a virtual book club that reached hundreds of people, which led to an international movement. The conference became a way for those who were blessed by the book to gather annually for information, inspiration, and motivation to continue on the road to destiny.

Here are the details for this years conference, coming up in November:
