A rose is a symbol of love, purity, joy, elegance, innocence, and passion. All nouns that describe Darlaina Rose, a “Naturalista” who is a voice for our culture as we transition back into healing the customary way that our ancestors used to! We just recently caught up with the “Holistic” beauty in her recently established House of Roses Healing House in Atlanta and this is what she had to say:
W2WT: What motivated you to write a book?
DR: I was forced lol! My mentor coach and friend The Linked in Professor Tajuana Ross was coaching me at the time. She said you have too much knowledge. Hands on it your duty to share this information. I protested hard but eventually i gave in. I’m so glad that i did many have been blessed and saved by it.
W2WT: How was the process for the ‘Planting Seeds” web series?
DR: Always a story with me. Lol! It was women’s month and I wanted to share the dope amazing women in My network with the Dope amazing women in my network. I thought it was only going to be 30 days and it ended up being 106! I could have done 365 days i can’t believe how many women i know and that know me. I had to cut it off at 106. There are so many more! i will do it again in the fall. I am working on 100 Men now. I know a lot of them too! I can’t wait to share them with the world.
W2WT: What is some advice you would give to someone who is interested in working in your field?
DR: Oh, that’s easy you just have to have a love for people and be willing to help. Learn your craft, take plenty of continuing education to keep it going. i love learning new modalities to help my client base.
W2WT: What do you love most about your job?
DR: The healing, the total resolution of a client’s illness. The happiness they exude is priceless. They think i did something when all along it was their willingness to do the work that got them better.
W2WT: What are some goals that you want to accomplish within the next 5 years?
DR: I will have 5 Healing homes across the country. A large compound that i will live in and
oversee my VIP clients. Couple all that with traveling and speaking all over the world. W2WT: Do you feel that it took a while to realize your true talent?
DR: Yes, others saw it way before i did. I just kept helping people. it made me happy to do so. Finally, one of my friends was like you talking to people every day all day. People call you the minute they get a diagnosis or they want to clean up their lives health wise. Maybe this is a business. I’m like do you think so? uhhhh yeah so i just started the rest is history as they say.
W2WT: Did you ever imagine that you would become an entrepreneur?
DR: Yes, i come from a family where my dad was always doing something on the side. My dad put me in my first network marketing company at 18 selling insurances with Al Williams. Its Primerica now.
W2WT: What does women empowerment mean to you?
DR: It means empowering women with tools and information to level up their lives. Emotionally,
physically, spiritually and financially.
W2WT: Are there any other books you plan on writing?
DR: Oh yes, a second edition to the first book I have learned so much more since i wrote it. I am co-authoring a book with Dr Loretta Long she played Susan on sesame street for 50 yrs. and counting. She is writing a self-help book about living your dreams. I will be writing a chapter on assessments. How to assess your life and where you are. There will also be an anthology for the 100 Women and the 100 men. So much great stuff happening!
W2WT: What do you do on a daily basis to grow as an entrepreneur?
DR: Self Care. I take time to journal, i write what i am grateful for. i take time to sit in silence. Thats so important to do. So many people can’t be alone with themselves and they wonder why other people can’t be with them. if you can’t be with you, how can you expect anyone else to be with you. I take time to bathe in the tub, soak my feet, listen to good music. People who serve must also serve themselves to stay in a healthy space mind, body and soul.
